Greetings Lost fans! Here is the first official entry of the Koch lost blog.
As is my usual Thursday ritual, I have just completed watching last week's episode, The Economist, in order to prepare for a new ep. this week. Boy, that was just a great episode - not too much happening on the island, so the off island story is sweet. Also, Farraday's experiment opens up a ton of new theory board discussions.
Alright, now for this week's episode:
Wait, Amara just pooped, so I had to change her and her sheets! Needless to say, I love Tivo! NOW I am ready.
Yes! Locke for the open. It is great to see him at the start of any episode. And this is sweet, taking Ben's place, making a nice meal for his prisoner. In his own house. Tight.
Locke is pissed, shades of Season Two when Ben was locked in the safe, questioning his relationship with Jack's leadership. He needs faith yet again!
Kate is not staying for Sawyer. Okay fine! He is trying to figure her out at least.
Ah, Kate the celebrity - as a defendant, with a very long rap sheet yet pleading not guilty. Kate looks more at home on the island in a tank and jeans. What will we learn about Kate and the Oceanic 6 tonight?
Ahhhhh, look at the masses run to their Shepherd! Did you catch Dan's uncomfortable look at the mention of rescue? It is more than clear that rescue is not meant for our Losties.
Why is Kate looking for Miles? That Austen girl is always up to no good, even after all of this time on the island being a good guy (girl).
Miles finally making a contribution to the show - does he really know who Kate is? Who does he want to talk to? Oh, flash forward time.
Kate's character? She has none. WHAT!!!!!! Her son!?! Another mind blowing Lost moment. How far into the future is this flash forward? What is going on? Is this the same 'he' that Kate mentions in the last moments of Season Three? This is completely unexpected, which is exactly what we have come to expect from our beloved Lost.
Quick forward the Tivo. "Doot, doo doot" (That is supposed to be the Tivo noise - sorry, lame). Commercial for the iPhone, love it.
Jack is stressed man, it has been a day since Sayid left and no word. Uh oh, Sun has her doubts, should she transfer to Team Locke. On island, Kate is so uncomfortable around the baby. And....flash forward.
Yes! Jack appears!! And Kate is bewildered and a bit frightened. What happened between these two? So much story left to tell.
Only 8 of us survived??? Lost is so awesome! Jack is telling a complete lie! Apparently, Kate saved his life, saved everyone's life.
Is Kate sticking up for Jack here, or is she afraid, or what? The big L word appears, and Jack does NOT love Kate anymore. What did she do? Man, so so so so many questions! That was a great scene to say the very least!
Now Kate and Sawyer, wit for wit. A great relationship on the show, both as feisty as the other. Of course, they want to free Ben. Freckles is the only gal that can make Sawyer do anything he doesn't want to do. So far a nice pacing.
Remember, folks, Sawyer is a con man. What is his play here, he is telling the whole truth about Kate and Miles. Okay, Kate's plan succeeds yet again. Every episode about her is selfish, she is continually selfish and always out for herself.
Now Miles vs. Ben. Miles knows everything about Ben and understands his powers, therefore he wants money. Why $3.2 million? Miles does know who Kate is, but Kate does not heed his advice, obviously. Man, Locke needs to gain some control back. He is losing it. Then again, so is Jack.
The whole Barracks scene is quite amusing, everyone visiting each other's houses, having a sense of privacy in their house as if it is their own, all after two days!
Locke tells Kate adios! Yes, good move Locke, take some control brother.
Wow, Kate and Mom. Yeah, we saw this coming. Kate is surprised about her mom's deal? Both of them are pretty terrible people.
Here goes Kate, in the sack again, using Sawyer for his body. He does take care of her more than Jack does.
What is Charlotte helping Dan with? He is so weird. Man I don't like Charlotte at all, she is "rather nutty". Of course, they have not seen the chopper at all. No one is surprised in the least.
Locke has kicked it up a notch. Locke takes ownership of the entire island! Oh snap, he is now one bad man folks. I like it, I like it a lot, just the edge we need. And it's nice to see Miles sweat for once.
Ahhhhh, Kate and Sawyer sittin' in a tree... No nookie last night, something is wrong. Kate obviously is pregnant. Yup, of course, she leaves Sawyer after she uses him for emotional support. Same old story between these two. Sawyer tells the truth and then he gets slapped! What is up?? This whole baby thing is way off - could the baby really be Aaron? Did Kate assume him as her own after the were rescued? Strange.
Mom is not going to testify, big surprise. Kate slides off free somehow. Jack and Kate, together again. Jack still looks good, and he still loves Kate. But he doesn't really want to see her because of the baby. Must be Sawyer's baby? How old is this baby? What the heck happened? Why is Jack so opposed to seeing this child?
Kate sure has nice diggs.
Man, this child is older, like four. Blond hair! Is it Aaron?
YES!!!!!! Score! If you didn't notice earlier in the post, I called this. Oh man, his age sure gives credence to the time shift theory, that the island is way behind time. The most prevalent theory online seems to be that it is about three years time in the real world compared to the 100 island days.
Great Lost episode, everything we want. Check in with everyone, another great flash forward, a few answers, and a ton of more questions. Well done.
Check back later this week (maybe even Friday) for thoughts and analysis.
And of course leave comments, especially on theories and speculation. Sweet!
Till then,
Koch
