Blublockers is one of those products that starts out as slick infomercial and ends up being a staple of American culture, leading to an almost unknown status of acceptability. Think about it, George Foreman's Lean Mean Fat Reducing Grilling Machine came out; the public sees this infomercial on Sunday morning and the scoffers mocked, asking themselves and the public "who would buy this silly machine, with its grated, raised surface, greases flowing off into a tiny dish, sold by a has-been boxer." Well folks, as you know, the product was so widely accepted, that multiple versions of the product keep coming out, even today! Now it is basically a kitchen appliance; I really don't know anyone that is without this beautiful machine.
All that to say, Blublockers is another one of these products that surpassed the gimmick and became so widely used that people forget its insane informercial origins. The reason I bring this up is that I just bought two pairs, and I did not buy them through the mail, oh no, but bought them at Walgreens - two pairs for $14.99. What a turn of events!! What used to be an "exclusive TV offer" is now a Sunday sale item at the corner drugstore.
Check this out if you don't remember:
BTW, they work great. Look dorky, work amazingly. Get the Blublocker Viper - coverage for your whole eye, including the sides, covering your peripheral.
